When Denise called me for her special request I was more than thrilled to be a tiny part of her endeavor. Denise is a local writer and author whose first novel Juris Imprudence is coming to bookstores on June 28, 2010. Denise wanted me to photograph her bio picture for her new book. I was more than honored to be selected for this special request. Together we talked about a few ideas she had and I came up with shooting at a location rich in history as well as  the history of other local writers …Lewis Grizzard and Erskine Caldwell

Denise’s photo shoot took place on a lovely spring day at Moreland Georgia’s “The Old Mill”. The Old Mill was once an old textile mill and then became a mercantile for the town of Moreland, Ga. The building now serves as the town hall with offices in the back and the historical part of the building can be rented out for events, weddings, ect. It was actually the wedding site of prior clients of mine Ben and Alicia’s wedding. I fell in love with the building while photographing their wedding  last fall. The old beams and rustic floors provide texture and alluring interest. I am so excited for Denise’s book to hit the bookshelves and since myself becoming an avid reader lately, I am looking forward to reading her novel Juris Imprudence.

Once you have selected your images for your image disk I will post them online for family and friends to order prints and numerous other products. You simply select the photo or photo’s you want to order, pick your size and you even have control over the cropping on some images. You pay by credit card and within a few days your prints will be mailed directly to you. Please contact me for any questions…and please also keep in mind I also offer a personal tutorial and lab printing information on all image disks purchased.

Some of you may wonder why it’s takes a week, sometimes longer for me to post your galleries online. Well, here is a sample of an image directly off my camera..or what we photographers call sooc (straight out of camera) versus an images that I have fully edited. I use two programs to edit all your images…Lightroom and Photoshop. I remove the  flatness of the image, add color pop, color correct and ajust the levels. This is the first edit I do. Once you have made the final selection for your image disk or your prints, I then go back and do the final edits for each image you select. I might do skin (acne) touch-ups, lighten eyes, dodge areas (lighten), burn areas (darken). I usually spend anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes or sometimes longer per image ,depending on the image, for the final edit. It is a step-by-step process starting with the time I spend to shoot the session. Then I edit out the ones you don’t see (eyes closed, funny expressions, ect.)  Next, I do a preliminary edit on each and every image you view in your gallery and then I make the final edits once you have made your final selections. Actually, digital photography is alot more time-consuming than film ever was. However, digital photography is alot more forgiving than film ever was.
