New Simplicity Photography

Archive for March, 2009

The beauty of being an artist, photographer is being able to experience when the natural essence of those whom you are photographing is expressed.  It was recently expressed to me that a photographer is truly successful when the viewer can feel the souls of the people in the images. Certain experiences in life cause us to pause and take mention of the importance of the everyday…for it is in the simpleness of the everyday that our lives are defined. Today I created images…today I spent time with my son.redshoesimg_6278img_6180nsp2img_5983a

  • I love these images!

  • These are great. I love the old car and the tracks.

  • The pictures look beautiful. Like the last one best! Finally got the picutres to download, course it is the middle of the night and I should be asleep. Our internet hasn’t been working very well.

This image is special to me. It represents my entrance into photography taken with my first 35mm film canon camera almost 12 years ago. It was one of my first weddings and to this day remains, I feel, one of my strongest images. When all factors of light, element, chemistry and balance align themselves and you happen to be the one with the camera who is given the wonderful privledge to create…this to me begins the process of image alchemy. Of course 12 years ago photoshop did not exist (neither did digital) and so with the evolution of photography I have taken film, turned digital and with a little photoshop, turned masterpiece.gothicwindow2

  • Great post! Just wanted to let you know you have a new subscriber- me!

Yes it is true these images were shot in New York City! Of course this opportunity does not come around everyday but when it does it is worth embracing. It was a wonderful experience to photograph Ulena, a professional model, in the most alive and exciting city in the USA! Gotta love NYC!ulena2ulena11img_9951
